Meet the Family Chiropractic Centre- Charlestown Team
Leeanne Mauro
I was first introduced to chiropractic 25 years ago when I moved from Newcastle to Queensland. I had previously worked in administration/customer service, but after moving north I gained employment in a pre-school. I sustained a back injury while moving heavy playground equipment and thankfully found that my injury improved dramatically after starting chiropractic care.
Several years later, after returning to Newcastle to raise my two small children, I tackled tertiary study and obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Science. I then spent several years doing field studies and laboratory reports.
I have now been with this wonderful team here at The Family Chiropractic Centre for nearly 4 years. I love being at the front desk meeting and helping all the families who visit our clinic. It is always a pleasure to see how chiropractic makes such a difference to the lives of the young as well as the not so young.
My children are now both university students who each enjoy chiropractic care as part of their healthy and busy lifestyles. I have a deep interest in health, wellbeing and the environment. I have an active lifestyle, keeping fit and healthy with bushwalking, yoga, African drumming and my weekly chiropractic adjustment.

I am married and have four wonderful children ranging in age from 15 to 22. I have always lived locally and have many years experience in office work. I have been a Chiropractic Assistant at Family Chiropractic Centre for the past 4 years. It has been great to be part of the team because working with people, particularly children is something I enjoy immensely.
I am still amazed at the benefits from having chiropractic care myself. Severe headaches used to be part of my life, but since joining Family Chiropractic and getting regular adjustments, I no longer suffer from them at all. My family all come in for care and I still marvel at the change I see in their health. I love the way Chiropractic has influenced my life and others. I keep busy with family, work, Pilates, going to Curves and I don’t mind the occasional shopping spree.
